Buy a Car for the First Time

What everybody should know

It will really put a burden on your wallet when you buy a car. Young kids really enjoy taking out loans to buy new cars. I can give tips to people who want to avoid this.

The first thing to do

Avoiding buying a new car is my first advice. Even the first few seconds of driving the car costs a couple thousand dollars. Because of this, you will save a lot of money buying a car a few years old. For the first car it would seem impractical and expensive to buy one new.

Your second tip

It would be a good thing if you were to buy an older car first. It is likely that you will not have your fist car for very long. You might count on not keeping your car very long the first time around. If you buy a car from the nineties versus buying from this year then you will save a lot of money. Cars prices go down a lot when there’s one or two thing wrong with it which is what you should look for. You car should work good enough to get you through a few years of work or college.

Third Tip

My third suggestion is that you pay for it in cash. They are going to want to give you a great deal when they see the cash you brought. Paying with cash like this will work not only with cars but everything you buy. You are more likely to get a cheaper price when you have cash in your hands. You will need to get a contract from them if you pay with cash. This will be the way to protect yourself when you can show you’ve bought the vehicle.

The fourth thing to do

The next suggestion I have is that you don’t take out a loan but instead save up for the car. If you take out a loan then you should take out as little as possible. This will make you appreciate the car more and save you a lot of money. It might seem impossible to pay back the interest from a car loan. For your first car you should try to take out as little loan as possible.

Your fifth tip

You need to take care of the car you just put a lot of money into. Your car will probably run longer than a couple of years if you treat it right. Changing the oil should be done often along with checking the engine. Try to keep yourself from going on too many long trips with the car. Remember to keep it clean on the inside and outside. This will all help you have a nice and inexpensive first car that will run well.
