‘True Blood,’ Evan Rachel Wood join forces
Evan Rachel WoodA decade ago, not many people knew who Evan Rachel Wood was, even though she’d already been on several movies and TV shows. Of course, a decade ago, Evan Rachel Wood wasn’t even a teenager. However, now at nearly 22 years old, she has risen to a level of fame that has audiences buzzing about “True Blood” and Evan Rachel Wood’s future role on it.
Evan Rachel Wood will be on “True Blood” for the next two episodes (at least) playing a queen. “True Blood,” a show about vampires coexisting with humans, has already managed to climb to the top of the popularity charts, and Even Rachel Wood’s presence might be able to put it over the top among cable’s biggest moneymakers.
Money trail
Back when she was still too young to get a cash until payday loan, Evan Rachel Wood started pulling in big money for filmmakers as she starred in “Thirteen,” her first big role in a feature film. She was 15. The film only cost $1.5 million to make, and it brought in $6 million in the U.S. alone.
Evan Rachel Wood has not been in many big, mainstream blockbuster films. Luckily for HBO, she’s done enough indie flicks and Broadway plays to have some major street cred, which will translate into big stacks of dollar bills as Evan Rachel Wood on “True Blood” attracts more viewers.
Back to the vampires
When Evan Rachel Wood was 7, she tried out for the role of the child in “Interview with a Vampire.” Kirsten Dunst got the part, but Evan Rachel Wood’s role in “True Blood” shows that her desire to be on vampire-themed shows never really faded.
She has been involved in a few different productions that focused on the supernatural, such as “Practical Magic.” This year she was in the film “Whatever Works,” which cam out last month. The film has not made much money yet – only $5 million in the U.S. compared to the $15 million it cost to make – but there is still time.
Triple threat
Evan Rachel Wood has also capitalized on her voice in Broadway plays as well as the recent film “Across the Universe.” She got her high school diploma at age 15 which has allowed her to pursue acting full time.
Her biography on the Internet Movie Database says she has a black belt in martial arts. Hm, a woman who knows martial arts and is clearly not bothered by blood? I wouldn’t want to cross her. She does have a softer side, though. She played a sensitive teenager for three seasons on “Once and Again.” Her IMDB biography says:
Evan Rachel Wood was born on September 7, 1987, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her father is Ira David Wood III, and her mother is Sara Lynn Moore. She has two older brothers: Dana, a musician, and Ira David Wood IV. Evan and her brothers sometimes performed at Theatre In The Park in Raleigh, North Carolina, where her father is the executive director and founder of the theatre.
